Description

In this video, I’ll show you how to use the new writing tools powered by Apple Intelligence on your iPad. These tools allow you to rewrite text in different styles, such as friendly or professional tones, and even shorten long pieces of writing. I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step, showing how easy it is to enhance your writing with a few taps.

Transcript

The writing tools with Apple Intelligence work across the entire iPadOS, so wherever you’ve typed in text, you can access these features. For example, in this email with my rather pushy message, I can simply highlight the text, tap on Writing Tools, and then explore all the options available to me.

Let’s start by rewriting this in a different style — perhaps a more friendly tone of voice. I’ll tap on Rewrite, and as you can see, Apple Intelligence will keep the meaning intact but change the tone to something a bit friendlier. If I don’t like the change, I can press Undo at the bottom and try a different style.

Next, let’s try the Professional style. Again, I’ll highlight the text, tap on Writing Styles, and select Professional. You can see it’s now rewritten in a much more formal language, which might be more appropriate given the seriousness of this email.

I can choose to keep the revised text, edit it further, or revert back to the original version using the toolbar at the bottom. And for longer pieces of writing, not just this short email, there’s also a tool to make the text more concise, which is perfect for trimming down length while maintaining clarity.

As more Apple Intelligence features continue to roll out, your iPad will be able to do even more than it could before.
