Hi, Jacob here, and in this short QuickTip video, I’m going to show you how you can change the default length of the snooze button on your alarm clocks with iOS 26.
This small little change means you don’t have to have a snooze for 9 minutes anymore — you can make it much shorter or much longer if you want to.
So, let’s jump straight in. I’m in the Clock app here, and I’ve got my morning wake-up alarm set for 6:00 a.m. At the moment, when this alarm goes off tomorrow morning, if I press the snooze button, it will give me 9 more minutes before the alarm goes off again.
I’ve always thought 9 minutes is a weird amount of time. I’m sure there’s a reason for it — and I’m sure someone in the comments might let me know — but I want to change it to a slightly shorter snooze time.
To do that, I’m going to scroll down to the bottom of this screen and tap onto the new Snooze Duration button. From here, I can use the little wheel to pick any length of time I want from 1 minute to 15 minutes. I’m going to choose a 5-minute snooze here.
I guess if you want longer than 15 minutes, perhaps you’d be better off setting a second alarm instead — that might be a better option for you.
When you’ve done this and press Save, that wake-up alarm will be saved with the new snooze duration. But you can do this on any alarm — it doesn’t just have to be a special wake-up alarm.
For example, I can go on to this alarm here for Breakfast and change the duration to 15 minutes for this snooze instead.
In fact, through the magic of editing, if I go back to my lock screen now — that alarm’s about to go off just about… now. Perfect! And if I press the snooze button — there you go — I’ve now got a 15-minute snooze on that alarm.
There are loads of new features in iOS 26 — and even from earlier versions — that you may not even know are hiding on your phone. To see all of these features and learn more about what your iPhone can do, please check out my channel down below.
And hey — maybe subscribe while you’re there. That’s it — I’ll see you in the next one!
