Description

Did you know Apple Music has a built-in karaoke feature? It’s called Apple Music Sing, and it lets you lower the vocals on your favourite songs so you can take the lead yourself. In this QuickTip I’ll show you how to turn it on, display live lyrics and turn down the vocals, with no extra apps needed because it’s all built right into Apple Music.

Transcript

Apple Music is hiding an awesome secret that most people don’t know about, and it’s called Karaoke Mode. Let me show you how it works.

So, first, we need to open up the lyrics screen by tapping this icon on the Now Playing screen.

Straight away, you’re going to see the live lyrics lighting up and scrolling in time to the music you’re listening to.

And it’s also worth knowing at this point that you can tap onto any of those lyrics on screen and the track will jump automatically to that part of the song.

So, whilst these lyrics are pretty good for singing along with, it actually gets even better because, in the bottom corner of the lyrics screen, you might notice this microphone icon.

Tapping here enters into Karaoke Mode, where you’ll see the option to turn down the vocal track and sing along yourself to the lyrics.

You can turn down the vocals a little bit or all the way off depending on your preference.

And, of course, when you’re done, simply press the microphone button again and the song will go back to normal.
