Description
In iOS 27, Siri AI can finally draw on your contacts, calendar, emails and messages to answer questions only it could answer, like what you need to prepare for tomorrow’s course. I’ll show you how to get a full daily briefing on your iPhone, ask Siri to search your emails and messages, and follow up naturally, plus how Apple keeps it all private with on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute. It’s like having a real personal assistant.
Transcript
The new Siri AI is a really effective personal assistant because it has access to your information. It has your contacts, your calendar, your emails, your messages going back from when you first had your first iPhone. And because it’s all stored on-device and in Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, that data isn’t being shared with the wider world or any nefarious parties. Let me show you how.
And before I do that, if you’re new around here, then hi, my name is Jacob, and I’m your friendly Apple expert here to help you make the most of your devices on YouTube. Please do tap subscribe if you want some more quick tips like this in your feed.
Okay, so tomorrow I’ve got a course coming up with YouTube, and I know there’s some stuff I need to prepare ahead of time, but I haven’t had a chance to do it yet. So rather than searching through all of my emails and messages, I’m simply going to ask my new Siri AI assistant to figure that out for me. So I’m going to be on my home screen of my phone, not even in the calendar or anything, and I’m simply going to say, “Hey Siri, I’ve got a course tomorrow with YouTube. What did I need to prepare beforehand? I’m sure I had an email about it. Can you find the details for me?”
Now, at this stage, it will take a few moments for Siri to make that request happen – it’s analysing a lot of data all at once. But then, just like this, it’s going to give me that response. And rather than saying “I can’t find that, search it on the internet,” it’s actually going to give me a really rich overview of what I need to bring to my course tomorrow, the software I need to install, the hardware I might want to bring, and it’s even gone beyond that and given me the timetable for the week. So at a glance, I can look at that and see exactly what I need.
This is also incredibly useful if you want a daily briefing, because you can now say, “Hey Siri, what’s on the cards for today?” And it’s going to give you an overview of your whole day – what it looks like, where your meetings are, where you need to be. And then you can ask follow-up questions, which again you couldn’t do before: “What do I need to prepare for this meeting? What time should I leave to get there on time?” All of those sorts of questions.
So whatever you’ve used Siri for before, just forget it. This new Siri AI is so different and so much more capable.
