Description
If your iPhone has dozens of Safari tabs open, iOS 27 can finally tidy them up for you. With Automatically Create Topics, Safari groups related tabs together, so your bike research sits in one place and your trip planning in another. I’ll show you how to switch it on, browse each topic, close a whole group in one tap when a project’s finished, and turn it off again if you prefer the old way.

How many tabs do you have open in your Safari on your iPhone right now? Don’t worry, it’s not an attack. I’ve got dozens and dozens of tabs open, and it can be really hard to find the exact web page you’re looking for when your tab page is pretty busy. Well, iOS 27 can help with this by grouping tabs together, kind of like folders, based on the theme or the topic or the project you’re looking at. Let me show you how it works.
And before I do, hi. If you’re new here, my name is Jacob. I’m your friendly Apple expert here to help you make the most out of your iPhone. So tap subscribe and you won’t miss any in the future.
Okay, so in Safari, I’m just browsing the web, and I’m going to tap here to go to my tab overview. Now, I’ve already got a few on here at the moment – pretty good for me, to be fair. But as I scroll through, you can see there’s quite a lot of websites all about bikes. I’ve been looking to buy a new bike, doing some research. I’ve got multiple tabs open – you know how it works.
Well, what we’re going to do is tap onto the options button at the top, the one with the three horizontal lines. And then we have the option to Organise Tabs automatically. We can either turn this off, and that works like it has done up until this point on your iPhone, or we can have it Automatically Create Topics. And what that’s going to do is use Apple Intelligence to group your tabs together into kind of folders. So there’ll be one for bike research, one for a trip to Norway, whatever else it might be you’re looking for. And then you won’t have as many tabs to scroll through. You can tap onto the folder and go to the exact website you wanted, because they’re nicely organised for you.
You can also close a whole group in one go. So if you bought that bike, or if you’ve booked that holiday, you can say goodbye to all those open tabs in one very satisfying tap.
Before you jump into Safari, one last thing: please do hit subscribe if you enjoyed the video, and then maybe come back and try this one next.
