Hey, it’s your friendly teacher, Jacob here, and today I’m going to show you how you can do screen recording on your iPhone – how you can capture everything that you’re doing on your device, as well as the audio if you’d like to. I’ll show you that too, and then you can save it as a video file to email or message to who you need to send it to.

So, all we’re going to do is use our Control Centre by swiping down from the top right-hand corner of your screen. Now, on mine, I’ve actually got the Screen Recording button ready to go. It looks like this, but you may not have that.

So, if you don’t have that button, all you’re going to do is press and hold somewhere in an empty space in your Control Centre, and then you can tap Add a Control at the bottom. From here, I’m just going to search for Screen Recording, and you’re going to see that button appearing straight away.

Tapping on that will add it to my Control Centre, and I can actually drag and drop to reposition that if I want to, and I can even pull the corner out to make it slightly bigger. It can be nice making it bigger because then you get the label next to the button to remind you what it does.

One last really important thing to do here is to long-press on the button, not just tap it once. If you tap it once, you’re going to start recording, which might be great, but you don’t know if you’re going to capture the audio or not. And sometimes you might want that, sometimes you might not.

So, the best option here is to long-press the button, and then you can toggle the microphone on or off. If that button is red, that means it will record the audio as well as just the screen. Then you can press the button and the recording is going to start.

Okay, so the recording’s done. To stop this, I need to press the red icon at the top of my screen. For me, it’s in the Dynamic Island. For you, it might be in the Control Centre.

Then, when I tap on that button, I have the option to stop recording, just like this. And then, if I tap on the little preview at the top here, I can jump straight into the Photos app to find that screen recording, just like this.

And if you miss that button at the top, don’t panic. It will be saved automatically into the Photos app for you.
