In this tutorial, we explore how to enhance your videos in Clips by adding background music from a wide range of built-in soundtracks, adaptable to the length of your video. I also demonstrate how to preview and select the perfect soundtrack for your project and hint at a future video where we’ll cover removing background audio from video clips.

Let’s get really creative now and add some background music to our videos. Clips has loads of soundtracks built in, and I’ll show you how to use them. In the top right corner, press on the music icon and then go down to where it says ‘Soundtracks’. From here, you’ll get a list of all the different soundtracks built into Clips. Now, these aren’t just any old soundtracks; the lengths of these will change depending on the length of your video. Tap on one, and it will download a preview for you to try. Tap it again to listen. Go and experiment with a few different soundtracks and see which one fits your video. When you find one that you really like, you can press the back button in the top left corner. You’ll then see a waveform of the track you’ve chosen, and it will be different depending on how long your video is. If you add more Clips later, it will adapt to fit as well. If you want to check it, that’s the play button in the bottom corner. You might notice that some video clips have got background audio of their own. In the next video, I’ll have a look at how to remove that, should you wish.
