Description

Learn how to enable and customise Apple Intelligence to summarise and group notifications on your iPhone or iPad. This feature is perfect for handling busy group chats or notifications from multiple apps, helping you see the most important messages at a glance.

Transcript

One particularly useful feature in Apple Intelligence is the ability to summarise and group notifications for you, giving you an overview of the content within a whole group of messages. So, if you’ve got a really active family group chat or friends’ chat, it’ll highlight the most important messages at the top, summarising the last 40 or 50 messages in that busy conversation.

Of course, you can turn this feature on and off and customise which apps and notifications it applies to. Simply open the Settings app, then go to Notifications. From here, you’ll find the option to summarise previews as part of Apple Intelligence, and you can choose to turn this off for all your apps. Alternatively, you can be a bit more selective and decide exactly which apps you do and don’t want to be summarised.

Once you’ve set this up, any notifications that come in will be summarised by Apple Intelligence as per your preferences. You’ll know when a summary is in place because a little badge will appear on the number of notifications you’ve received, and there’ll be an icon resembling an arrow beneath a paragraph symbol, showing that Apple Intelligence has summarised the content of those notifications in a single bubble.
