Description
In this video, I’ll walk you through the new features of Siri on iOS 18.1, including its ability to browse Apple Support documentation and give you step-by-step guides for common tasks, like turning off Wi-Fi, changing your wallpaper, or even toggling Dark Mode.
Transcript
The newly updated Siri on iOS 18.1 has a few hidden features up its sleeve, one of which is the ability to now browse Apple Support documentation to give you suggestions and tech tips for your phone – a little bit like my videos do, but without my cool and cheerful face, I suppose!
If I press and hold to activate Siri, you’ll notice that new lovely glow around the screen, and then I can simply ask it a question. Let’s go with, “How do I turn off Wi-Fi?” Just like that, Siri will provide a step-by-step guide on how to do it directly on your phone.
And Siri can handle multiple requests too! Let’s try asking another question: “How do I change my wallpaper?” Once again, Siri pulls from the Apple Support documentation to give you a detailed guide.
Now let’s ask something else: “How do I put my icons in dark mode?” If it’s a really simple request, Siri will actually give you the option to toggle it directly in the response. So, from here, I can turn Dark Mode on or off without needing to go into Control Centre or the settings menu.
While the new Siri certainly looks different and more modern, it doesn’t yet have all the features Apple promised at WWDC last year. However, as more updates roll out for iOS 18 and beyond, we’re hoping to see more functionality added to Siri.
