nothing to see here!
Description
In this video, I’ll show you how to turn off certain sections, rearrange others, and create a layout that suits your needs. Whether you want a minimalist approach or a feature-packed homepage, iOS 18 gives you full control. I’ll also show you how to reset to the default layout if needed.
Transcript
The new Photos app on iOS 18 is incredibly customisable. You can change any of the things that appear on your homepage simply by scrolling down to the very bottom and choosing Customise. From here, you can turn off certain sections—maybe you don’t want to have Memories on there, or you don’t want the Album section. You can also rearrange them to move sections higher or lower down the page. The only thing you can’t change is the photo grid at the top.
When you’ve made a few changes like I have here, you can simply close this screen, and the Photos app will change to reflect whatever you’ve just selected. This means you can choose how you want it to look—as minimal or as complex as you want. If you want to go back to the default layout, just go back to the bottom, tap on Customise, and then press Reset in the corner. That will put it back to the standard configuration for you.
There are so many interesting features hidden in the Photos app update this year. Please do check out my channel down below, where you’ll find lots more QuickTips all about the Photos app redesign and update. I’ve also written an eBook, 100 QuickTips for iOS 18, which goes into more detail about all the changes to Photos. You can find that at the link below.
