nothing to see here!

Description

If your iPhone camera roll is buried under screenshots, memes and WhatsApp images, the new Captured by Me filter in iOS 27 is the fix. It shows only the photos and videos you’ve taken with your iPhone’s camera, and nothing is deleted. I’ll show you how to switch it on from your Photos library, and where to find it as an album in Collections, so your own pictures are always easy to find.

Transcript

Is your camera roll so full of random screenshots, memes and random photos that people have sent you that it makes it really hard to find your own photos? You’re just scrolling forever through tons and tons of junk? Well, believe it or not, there’s now a really simple fix for that in iOS 27. And I’ll show you two different ways you can finally control your photo library.

And before we do that, if you’re new around here, then hi, my name is Jacob. I’m your friendly Apple expert here on YouTube to help you make the most of your devices. So, if you’d like more QuickTips like this, please just press subscribe, then you won’t miss any in the future.

Okay, so I’m in the Photos app now, and I’m just on my general Library tab. Immediately you can see there are screenshots there. There are pictures my wife has sent me. There’s all sorts of rubbish there. I’m going to try and filter this so it’s only pictures that I have taken myself that show up.

To do that, the first way is to press the filter button at the top here. That’s the one with the three horizontal lines. Then you’ve got a bunch of different ways you can organise and sort your library. If you’ve not tried this before, do explore some of these later, because they’re really good. But the one that I want to use is simply called Captured by Me. When I tap on there, all of my screenshots are gone. All the photos people have sent me, gone. Now it’s just the photographs that I have taken.

But there are two different ways that we can do this, because you might not want to filter just your photo library. You might want to go into an album of just your pictures. Well, to do that, tap on the Collections tab at the bottom. Then, if you scroll down, you’re going to find a section called Utilities. In there, you’re going to find the new Captured by Me album as well. And when you tap on there, your photo library is just that: your photo library.

So, if you enjoyed this, if you’ve learned something new, please do press subscribe. And then you might want to check out this QuickTip.
