Description
Want more bass from your AirPods, or clearer vocals in your favourite songs? iOS 27 adds a three-band custom equaliser for AirPods, so you can tune your music to sound exactly how you like it. I’ll show you where to find it in Settings and how to adjust the bass, mids and treble, plus why your custom EQ follows your AirPods to every app and even your iPad and Mac.

With iOS 27, we’ve got a brand-new way to customise our AirPods. And, for the first time ever, we can set an equaliser to make our music sound exactly the way we want. Let me show you how it works. It’s super simple.
And before I do that, if you’re new around here, then hi, my name is Jacob. I’m your friendly Apple expert here on YouTube to help you make the most of your devices. If you want more QuickTips like this in your YouTube feed, please do press subscribe, then you won’t miss any in the future.
Okay, for this to work, you have to put your AirPods in first, and then you’re going to jump into the Settings app. Now, this works for AirPods Pro, and you’re going to see AirPods Pro at the top there, so we’ll tap on here. On the AirPods overview screen, we’re now going to tap on Audio and Routing, and then from here, you’re going to find the option for Equaliser.
Now, I would suggest that you play some music while you’re doing this, because that way you can hear the effect in real time. I’ve got a track playing now. At the moment, it’s on the Recommended equaliser. That’s what you’ve had for years and years and years.
But now we can tap on Custom, and we can change the low, mid and high tones of our track by simply dragging the sliders up and down. Of course, if you want to, you can press Reset. But this now means that you can finally add some more bass to your music. You can increase the vocals a little bit in the mid-range, or whatever else it is you want to do.
And when you’re finished, simply close the Settings screen, and that will keep working until you change it again in the future.
So, before you go and do that, make sure you press subscribe, and then you might want to check out this QuickTip later.
