Description
Listening to music in another language? With iOS 26, Apple Music now offers real-time lyric translations and phonetic pronunciation overlays. I’ll walk you through how to turn on these hidden features so you can enjoy international music like never before.
Transcript
The Music app in iOS 26 has had a few really interesting changes — one of which links to the lyrics that you enjoy when listening to music.
If you’re now listening to a song that’s not in your native language, Music can translate the lyrics into your native language for you.
So here I’m listening to BTS, and if I press on the Lyrics button, I can see that it’s all in Korean — and I don’t speak Korean. Obviously I can enjoy the song, but I can’t see what the lyrics are.
Well, this is where the new translation feature comes in. In the bottom left-hand corner, if it’s available on the song you’re listening to, you’ll see this button. And when you tap onto here, you’ll have two different options.
We’ll tap on Show Pronunciation first of all. And then straight away, underneath the Korean lyrics, you’re going to see a phonetic version of what the singers are singing. And from my testing, this is really quite accurate — in both Korean and Spanish music.
We can then press back on the icon again, and now we can turn on Show Translation. And then underneath those lyrics, we now have the English version, or your native language, of the lyrics of that song.
Now we can see exactly what they’re singing about — and we can sing along if we want to!
And of course, we can choose to toggle on the Pronunciation, or the Translation, or any combination of the two. And we can turn them off entirely if you want to enjoy the song without any of those distractions.
This is just one of many, many hidden features in iOS 26 that makes your phone better and more useful than ever before.
