Description

Not sure how to cancel subscriptions on your iPhone? In this quick tutorial, I walk you through exactly where to find your subscriptions and how to stop auto-renew payments.

Transcript

Hi, it’s your friendly teacher, Jacob here, and in this quick video, I’m going to show you how you can cancel recurring subscriptions on your iPhone, which means that you won’t get unexpectedly charged large amounts every month or every year.

It’s really simple to do this. Jump into the App Store and then press your profile picture in the top right-hand corner. This will bring up your account settings, and from here you can just tap onto Subscriptions.

Now, I’ve actually got quite a few subscriptions here, but you might notice lots of them have got a red message saying they expire soon. I’ll tell you about that more in a second.

But to cancel one of these subscriptions, all you need to do is tap onto it. Then you’ll get the option right there in the middle to cancel. You haven’t got to ring anyone up. You haven’t got to do a complicated web form. You just tap that button and then tap again to confirm.

And just like that, my ongoing subscription is cancelled.

But what’s really nice is that you can actually keep using the app until the end of that subscription period. It doesn’t just stop working there and then.

By the way, if this is helpful to you, please do press that Like button down below.

Now, you might be wondering why I’ve cancelled so many subscriptions. Well, actually, it’s really simple. It stops them auto-renewing in a year’s time, which means I won’t get charged at that point.

However, if I want to keep using the app, I can do until the time period ends. And of course, I can simply renew that subscription if I want to.

Renewing a subscription is just the same as cancelling one. Simply tap onto it from this screen, and then you can press Renew here when you’re ready.

But most of the time, whenever I take out a new subscription, I will almost immediately cancel it in this app. That way, I know that I can carry on using it, and if I like it, I can resubscribe in the future.
