YouTube Shorts were completely taking over my homepage, so I found a way to remove them from the app entirely.
In this QuickTip, I’ll show you how to disable Shorts in YouTube using a hidden setting so you can get back to longer videos and a much cleaner browsing experience.

Hi, it’s Jacob here. I’ve got a real love-hate relationship with YouTube Shorts. I like them, I really do, but every time I open YouTube looking for a longer video, my homepage is almost completely taken over by Shorts. Honestly, it’s getting a bit much now.
That’s exactly why I wanted to share this with you, because I found a way to remove Shorts from the Home Screen and search screens in YouTube.

Right, let’s fix this Shorts problem.
In the YouTube app, tap your profile picture on the far right of the bottom toolbar, then go into Settings in the top corner. From here, look for Time Management.
Inside there, you’ll find a toggle called Shorts Feed Limit. The important thing here is to set the limit to 0 minutes. That way, Shorts won’t appear at all.
If you set it to 15 minutes, for example, you’ll still see Shorts until you’ve watched 15 minutes of them, which completely defeats the point.
Once you’ve selected 0 minutes, close the app and reopen it. Just like that – no more Shorts. It feels strangely calm, doesn’t it?
One quick heads-up though – this setting doesn’t sync across devices. So if you use YouTube on your phone, tablet, or TV, you’ll need to set it up individually on each one.
