Description

Stop guessing what a price really costs when you’re travelling. Your iPhone has a currency converter hidden inside the Calculator app, and it uses up-to-date exchange rates so you always know what you’re actually spending. In this short guide I’ll show you how to turn it on: open the Calculator, enter the amount, tap the calculator icon in the top corner, and switch to Conversion mode. Pick your currencies and you’ll see the conversion instantly, in either direction.

No extra apps, no searching, no working it out in your head at the till. It’s one of those built-in features that makes trips abroad far less stressful. If this helped, hit subscribe for more simple iPhone tips.

You don’t need to guess currency conversions in your head because your iPhone can do it for you.

When I’m travelling, I always have that moment where I’m staring at a price thinking, “Is this the bargain of the year, or is my wife about to call me because I spent way too much money on another pin badge?”

So, we’re going to open the Calculator app and type in the amount you want to convert. Let’s say $49.99.

Then, in the top corner, press the little calculator icon and switch to Conversion mode.

You can then choose your currencies by tapping on either of the options. So, for example, euros into pounds.

It instantly shows you how much you’re spending using up-to-date exchange rates. You can flip it the other way too, so it works in both directions.

No apps, no searching – it’s just built right into your iPhone. It helps make those quick decisions a little bit easier.

And if that helped, here’s another quick decision – check out this QuickTip next.
